From Preschool to Kindergarten, there is no prerequisite for children to speak French. For students entering in 1st Grade and above, there is a French language proficiency requirement. Prospective students are to meet the minimum French language entry level objectives for the specific grade level for which they are applying for.
Our community is very diverse, and many families do not speak the languages offered, especially French. Therefore, much on-site help and support is offered to families at FASSV through study hall, individual or small group tutoring. We are also able to provide additional support during the school day for those who would benefit from this.
FASSV is accredited by the French Ministry of Education, ensuring that its curriculum follows the framework and methods of the French system.
FASSV is also accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools and the California Association of Independent Schools, reflecting a commitment to the highest standards of independent schooling across the United States.
While a few French bilingual schools in the Bay Area hold these recognitions, FASSV is the only one in the South Bay with a 50/50 bilingual program.
FASSV believes in the importance of communication between home and school. Therefore, your child’s teachers will update you regularly about your child’s progress. A class Blog is available in Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten, telling you about what is happening in the classroom. Report cards and parent/teacher conferences are also scheduled regularly throughout the year. The teachers will also contact you if there are any special circumstances concerning your child at any time.
